The tarte tartelette toasted Eyeshadow Palette ($46.00) is tarte‘s brand new addition to their tartelette vault, and although I wasn’t really expecting anything more from an eyeshadow palette (because I literally have every neutral shadows I could ever need), I was, for sure, impressed. I am a fan of the original tartelette and the tartelette in bloom palettes already (I use them so much for wedding gigs) and these eyeshadows have become staples in my kit and my personal use, and this new sister palette did not disappoint. This palette is the same in formula, if not, better.

This palette is a lot warmer than the prequel palettes, so this might not be everybody’s cup of tea. But I love me some warm eyeshadows, so this is right up my alley. The shades kind of reminded me of the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette and the Morphe Copper Spice palette that I already own, which was probably why I wasn’t so excited when I saw the release. But in terms of quality, the tarte toasted palette blew these two out of the water. I fell in love with the shadows immediately after my first use and that’s saying something.

The palette comes with 12 gorgeous eyeshadows (4 shimmers, 1 satin, 7 mattes with one with specks of glitter). The shadows upon swatches were very creamy and super pigmented on the first swipe. Just like the prequel palettes, the eyeshadows aren’t powdery, which is great because you won’t be wasting product. The only one that seemed a tad gritty and had some fallout is the eyeshadow “Candle”, which has the most intense shimmer than the other shimmers in this palette; but even though it’s not as creamy, it isn’t clumpy on the lids. The eyeshadows are infused with Amazonian clay, which helps to balance your skin while the eyeshadows are on, so they stay on longer where you don’t need primer. I really can attest to this claim because I can easily apply this formula on the go without primer and I have oily lids. These shadows glide on very nicely and smoothly on the lids without any patchiness. They’re very easy to blend and I love that I can easily control the shadows, especially when I layer the dark colors, so you know this is very user friendly. I also love how I can use both my brushes and fingers for these shadows and still get the same color payoff.

If warm tones aren’t your cup of tea, this eyeshadow palette is one to try this Thanksgiving because it just screams fall. But this could easily transition into a summer palette as well. I’m very wary of sequel palettes from brands nowadays because sometimes the quality isn’t the same as the original, but it’s very rare that I love the sequel more than the original (and that goes for a lot of things, ahem, movies). As much as I love the first two tartelette palettes, this is, by far, my favorite one. Definitely going to bring this to my holiday trip to the tropics.
